Industrial Nut manufactures several different types of large diameter slotted nuts which are used in several different applications such as spindle bearings, machinery parts and construction equipment. This particular style of nut is used in applications that have the potential for vibration loosening issues. The top diameter slots (typically 6 slots) allow for the part to be free-spinning until it reaches the bearing surface. The mating part (externally threaded) will have a hole drilled into a specific area allowing the slotted nut to be seated and then have a cotter pin inserted between the slots and through the hole. This secures the nut and provides a visual that the locking feature is in place.

Parts come in metric thread sizes M20 through 150 or the inch equivalent.
